Exhibibition Catalog: Radically Modern

for Berlinische Galerie | Berlin

The architecture and urban design of the 1960s has left a clear mark on the city of Berlin. Key planning decisions were made in the Sixties, and numerous buildings of note went up that are now in need of preservation. This exhibition is the first comprehensive overview of the architectural heritage of both East and West Berlin. Focusing on an array of projects, it explores the objectives, commonalities, and distinguishing factors of 1960s urban planning and architecture. The accompanying exhibition catalog is divided into eight chapters, each with extensive texts and large-format images – some of them well known, others brand new.
